DESCRIPTION

Nice condition US WW1 practice saber. 42 1/4 inches overall with the oak blade portion extending 35 7/8 inches from the guard. Guard is blackened steel. Some light surface rust inside that will clean. Guard is attached to the wood with a screw on the pommel and a rivet through two brackets on the face of the guard. No markings that I can see. These were meant to imitate the 1913 Patton cavalry saber in saber practice during cavalry training. The grip even imitates the real sword grips with a small thumb indentation on the top edge just behind the guard. The men were equipped with padded vests, face masks and a gauntlet.

US only please. Shipping $16 insured. NY addresses add sales tax.
